June 24, 2020: "Thank you" is too weak a sentiment

To our Champions,

Thank you for the gifts you bestow, some tangible, some unseen. You provide commissary money and phone time, maybe media or streaming funds if we are really fortunate; the occasional food or clothing box is certainly appreciated. What we may not express often enough is our gratitude for the time you give us and the unmeasurable emotional toll you pay on our behalf.

Every call you answer, every email responded to, every letter and card you send is a blessing, a demonstration of your devotion. Your time is priceless, and you choose to spend it on us. You are valued.

You endure scrutiny, people judge you because of your friendship/involvement with/love for us. Some will say you are being taken advantage of, played by maestros of manipulation; nothing could be further from the truth. You provide us with a glimpse of the real world, keep us informed, challenge us to be strong, listen when we're not able to be.

'Thank you' is too weak a sentiment.
