June 7, 2020: Black Lives Matter: Freedom Song

Black Lives Matter: Freedom Song

V1

Senseless violence

rings in our streets

brought by those out walking the beat.

Black Lives Matter

Why can't you see?

That we all just want to be free.

Ignorance and hatred

Fueling their rage

peaceful protest, turns into Rampage.

*Chorus 1

They say our heads

are up in the clouds

but what's so wrong with having a dream?

We're look up

holding on for our Moment

when our world will heal and be free.

We cannot look

down for a moment

or we will fall and shatter our dream.

V2

We the People

Standing as One.

United pupose, we will not fall

Hear our voices

Diversity speaks out.

One People, One Mission, One Cause.

Divided people

put down your hate

Come together, it's never too late.

*Chorus 1

We'll keep our heads

way up in the clouds

and we shall keep on having our dreams?

We're looking up

taking hold of this Moment

trying to heal our world and be free.

We'll never look

down for a moment

until the day we realize our dream.

"As long as one of us is suffering; none of us are free!"
