May 1, 2020: Our Lives Matter

Friends, Governor DeWine's press conference today featured ODRC Director Annette Chambers-Smith and a doctor who ostensibly was there to validate that Smith was doing a great job managing the Covid pandemic. Inmates and staff have perished, I wonder if Smith feels any remorse because of this. The news conference never addressed the deaths. Smith was quick to describe the planning and efforts that have gone into ODRC's efforts. Two glaring lies - 1. Inmate temperatures are being checked once every four days, not daily as Smith reported. 2. The HVAC system has not been cleaned, only supply vents have had a cursory wipe down. Being Covid positive and 57 years young, my concern centers on the long term ramifications from this virus. We don't know what will happen three months or three years in the future. #Ourlivesmatter
