I look forward to "thoughts from the free world." i recognize so many names and i'm humbled and encouraged by their compassion. It makes a difference. In a place where confusion and unrest is the norm, and emotions for staff and inmates are just below the surface, these messages of hope give us all the opportunity to breathe.
Personally, i've fallen victim to the virus. I have undergone every symptom and i'm not 100% yet. The good thing is, for me, the illness was and is manageable. Others have had a rough go of it. Still others ...
I know that we re not the only ones struggling through this pandemic. The world has changed. My heart goes out to all of you who have to alter your lives. Change always presents opportunities. When it is all said and done, you will be able to say that you are better for living through a challenging moment in time.
I have enjoyed the poems by Carlos Williams and Maya Angelou's ("still i rise" is one of my favorites. Thanks Elise) i read them over and over learning something new every time.
I am with all of you in spirit. You and your families are in my prayers.
I thank you and the powers that be for allowing us to connect in this way. I am so grateful that i have had the opportunity to know you. My hope is that the relationship(s) can continue. I am in awe of you.
Do not grow weary in doing good.
