as of april 28, 2020 i have yet to see any of what you would call administration in their official capacity in over a month. people that work in a facility like this that carry this title include the warden, deputy wardens, major or unit staff. basically, anyone that is important who's responsibilities do not include turning a "key". in their absence they have seized the opportunity to convey oneway messages via the j-pay communication kiosk that is located in all living areas in the institution. this device is a computer. you can plug in a 7'' tablet and download music, movies, games and most importantly sent and received emails from friends and loved ones. for the past six weeks or so every inmate in the institution receives continuous "updates" that say the same stuff. for example, we are notified how we are supposed to practice social distancing and how to eat healthy to boost your immune system. a conversation about our "pandemic" dietary guidelines and what is actually being offered i will reserve for another day;) the message received today reads in part: "we are asking that you stay in a cohort. a cohort is a group of people who stay together. a cohort can be a small (like a family) or a larger (like a whole dorm). cohorts in prison will be in the same dorm together, eat together, and have recreation together. cohorts should try not to do things with people outside their group, unless you have to (like with a medical person)." i am reading this message while there is a massive shuffling of inmates from different living areas being relocated all over the institution. my living area holds 128 people. after fourteen disappeared, fourteen more all suffering from various stages of covid-19 were introduced into my cohort environment. is this a case of the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing? Pnn has reached out to the administration for a response, however, they have yet to receive official comment regarding these issues...lol!!!
